Understanding and Cultivating Love in Relationships
Jul 13, 2022Welcome to Loveology University’s sneak preview video course on Romantic Love Relationships. This in-depth course will teach you everything you need to know to find everlasting love, and how to nurture a strong romantic love relationship.
Many people give up looking for love, just when they are about to find it.
Triangular Theory of Love
John Allen Lee established six styles of love. Then, Sternberg changed them up a bit and put them into a model of seven combinations. According to his model, in order to have a successfully romantic love relationship you need three equal elements:
- Passion: attraction, desire and lust.
- Commitment: deciding to love and maintaining the relationship in the long term.
- Intimacy: feelings of closeness, bonding, and connectedness.

Communication: This is the key ingredient for a consistently successful relationship.
Chemistry: Enhance your chemical attraction to each other. Compliments are the bedrock of chemistry.
Curiosity: Be curious about the next step in your relationship. Show curiosity in your partner’s daily life.
Contentment: Make a list of the things you’re grateful for in your life. Share your contentment and gratitude with each other.
Collaboration: Find things that you can do together, then collaborate and create memories. The more you can collaborate, the more memories you create together.

Commitment: Only make commitments you think you can keep and that you want to keep. Review and renew commitments towards each other.
Copulation: Enjoy the journey of making love as much as the destination.
Creativity: Decide on a list of creative projects that would be fun to do together. Create romantic memories together.
Consideration: It is so important to be aware of your partner’s feelings.
